Żegluga Świnoujska
The history of Żegluga Świnoujska officially begins on June 1, 1991 – after separating from Żegluga Szczecińska. However, the first documented information about the existence of a permanent ferry crossing at the mouth of the Swina – comes from 1230! The document mentions the name of the then carrier – Theodoric. The history of the ferry crossing, the names of carriers, names and types of ferries, stretched not only between the two banks of the Świna, but also between the turbulent history of these lands, is described in a very interesting way by doctor Józef Pluciński in his book “From the history of the Świnoujście ferry crossing”.
