1979 Collision with another ship when arriving to Kristiansund , both ships got big damages.
Q1/1982 Main engine overhauled by Haugesund Mekaniske Verksted.
1/12/1982The entire crew went on board the new ship M/S Narvik, the old crew of the M/S Håkon Jarl came on board the M/S Nordnorge.
1983Second class dining room was dismantled and 6 double cabins were built.
27/8/1984Collision with MS Sote Jarl in Kjøllefjord.
12/1985Ship was modernized on Kaarbø Verft A/S. For 3 million kroner, 21 cabins with a total of 44 beds will be converted on the B – deck with toilet and shower.
17/2/1986Back to coastal service.
1987Post room was converted into a conference room.
2/1989Grounded
2/4/1996The ship was replaced by the M/S Nordkapp.
8/1996Sold to Templeman Shipping Co. Panama. New name Wordlink.
1996Used as a diving cruise ship around the Maldives.
1996Sold to Universal Enterprise PSE Ltd, Male.
New name Island Explorer.
1996/1997Refurbished in Greece.
12/2005Sold to scrap in Bangladesh.
19/12/2005Sold to scrap to Alang, India.
1/2006Reported to scrapping in Alang and other sources in Chittagong road.
