9/1939Planned Bordeaux – Buenos Aires service cancelled due to WW2. Laid up at St. Nazaire.
4/9/1939She repainted in light gray and equipped at the rear with 2 90 mm cannons (Saint-Étienne 1892 model) and 4 anti-aircraft machine guns.
4/1940First mission as an auxiliary warship is to convoy to the Orkney Islands in April 1940 part of the expeditionary force destined for the Norwegian Campaign.
1-9/6/1940She carries up to Halifax in Canada , 213 tons of gold reserves of the Bank of France that need to be protected to the Royal Bank of Canada in Ottawa.
9/8/1940After the German occupation of France. Ship was take over by England and operated by Cunard-White Star Line. She was used as troopship. UK flag, Liverpool home port.
1940-1945She operated between Canada – South Africa – Australia and South America.
4/10/1945The ship returned to French command.
12/1945Painted back to original colors.
12/4/1946Ship arrived first time in France after WW2. Used as troop ship. Delivered back to Compagnie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique, Bordeaux, France
1946-1956Used as a troopship around the World.
27/1/1957Laid up at Toulon for sale.
18/9/1957Sold to Norddeutscher Lloyd, Bremen, W.Germany.
26/9/1957Voyage from Brest to Germany.
8/1/1958-6/1959Rebuild by Bremer Vulkan shipyards. Build more passenger areas , new boilers.
23/5/1959New name Bremen.
9/7/1959Bremerhaven – Southampton – Cherbourg – New York service.
1960Winter season cruises to Caribbean and South America
1965/66Refurbished by Werft des Norddeutschen Lloyds, Bremerhaven
1/9/1970Owner merged with Hamburg-America Line and created Hapag-Lloyd Ag, Hamburg, W.Germany.
10/7/1971Sold to International Cruises, Pireus, Greece (Chandris)
1/1972Delivered to new owner. New name Regina Magna.
19/5/1972First cruise from Limassol, operated Chandris cruises.
17/10/1974Laid up at Piraeus.
10/1977Sold to Philippine Singapore ports Co. of Saudiarabia, Jeddah, Saudiarabia. New name Saudiphil 1.
1/11/1977Arrived to Jeddah. Modified to accommodate 5000 Filipino workers.
1980Sold to Philsimport International Ltd. Manila, Philippines. New name Saudi-Filipinas 1.
9/6/1980Sunk in tow for scrapping in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
